Description
Product Description Produced by George Nauful at Amazing Grace Studios, Los Angeles. Engineered and mixed by Steve Sykes. Mastered by Steve Hall at Future Disc Systems, Hollywood. Copyright 2000 Moses Productions Review "She puts to music life s everyday moments, capturing their fleeting magic for the rest of us." -- Takoma Voice, June, 2000 issue"She writes great songs, she sings magnificently and she manages the guitar and dulcimer with extreme dexterity...Wow!!!" -- Fao Casa Gazette, Rome, Italy -- October, 2000 issue About the Artist Dulcie Taylor is an award-winning singer/songwriter originally from South Carolina who is now living in the Washington DC area. Dulcie says one of her earliest and strongest influences was"the unknown drunk boy at Myrtle Beach who sat on my ukulele and smashed it. I’ll always be grateful to him, because that Christmas, Mother gave me a guitar." She is an accomplished musician, performing on a Taylor 814CE, as well as dulcimer and harmonica. As a writer, her recent awards include: • Five of her songs won awards in the 2000 Mid-Atlantic Song Contest. • Her CD, Other Side Of The Bed, won a Wammie (Washington Area Music Award) in January 2001. • She is one of three finalists, country category, in the national Chris Austin Songwriting Contest that is part of Merlefest (Doc Watson’s festival) in Wilkesboro, North Carolina, and will perform there at the end of April 2001. Dulcie’s CD, entitled Other Side of the Bed, is an exciting collaboration of acoustic and jazz artists (including top-selling artists such as Atlantic Records’ jazz pianist Brian Culbertson and saxophonist Steve Cole, and Verve Records’ jazz and rock guitarist Jeff Golub). Prior to relocating to the east coast, she performed extensively in California, including opening for such diverse acts as Jerry Lee Lewis, Vern Gosdin, Bonnie Raitt, and Eddie Raven. She is now performing in the greater DC area and was recently added to the artist’s roster for the Kennedy Center’s Millennium stage. Outside of music, Dulcie has also been recognized as a writer of fiction and poetry, and was recently elected to the Board of Directors of the Folger Shakespeare Library Poetry Series. See more

Her music is heartfelt and poignant. I loved it, especially the thought-provoking song "Cherokee."
