If I would have known how much this would improve my son’s sleep quality, I would have purchased years ago!!! My son has struggled with sleeping through the night for as long as he has lived. For reference, he has autism, sensory processing disorder, and a very vivid imagination! He asked for this tent for Christmas and we splurged—and SO glad we did!!! He said he finally feels “safe” at night (though he never articulated that he felt unsafe before this tent—I think he finally felt the sensation of being able to fully relax). We purchased a little rechargeable lantern that has a red light option for a night light inside the tent, attached a caribeener, and hang it from a little sewn-in loop above him on the inside. There are huge, vented mesh screens on each side and the fabric is like a thick, stretchy, strong athletic wear type.We bought this particular tent because it had the longest dimensions of all the tents we researched (we have an XL twin mattress). It fits just a bit wonky on the mattress, but still fits comfortably on the bedframe. We found the top support pole was unnecessary, because the side support arches and stretchy fabric were enough to create the right shape. If you have a standard mattress, I am sure you can assemble according to directions. One note is that it is a bit of a pain to change out the sheets, but 100% worth it for us!Definitely worth a try if your child struggles sleeping through the night and you have tried everything else! Even if your child doesn’t have sleep difficulties, it’s a super fun fort for playing during the day and a cozy sleeping space at night.
